On the occasion of the XIII Culture Week, until April 17 2011, the Uffizi Gallery of Florence presents at the San Pier Scheraggio room, the restoration of two important paintings preserved in the Florentine museum. They are the Selfportrait of Velazquez (from the Vasarian Corridor) whose restoration has pointed out an incredible quality of the technique , hidden for century by bad repainting and the only painting by El Greco we have in the Uffizi, Saint John Evangelist and Saint Francis. The restoration of the last one has recuperated the vibrant chromatic effect of the cold shades of colors, which is the peculiarity of the artist.
Tha show centre of San Pier Scheraggio is under the Loggia of the Uffizi, just before the entrance of the Gallery and it follows the timetable of the Uffizi Gallery.
