In the Uffizi Gallery of Florence, on the occasion of the 450 anniversary of Michelangelo’s death (February 18 1564) the rooms 33 and 34 show a new outfitting. On a sage green plaster thirty-nine statues and relieves represent the tribute Renaissance paid to the classical past. The first room “Greek portraits” shows a selection of roman copies of original Greek pieces, belonging to the V century B.C. The second room “ The Antique and the Garden of Saint Mark” shows the ancient examples which used to be in The Giardino di San Marco, the garden created by Lorenzo de’ Medici as a school, where the young Michelangelo was trained as a sculptor. Do visit the richer and richer Uffizi Gallery, reserve a private tour with your art expert and official guide of Florence. A unique experience!
