Do visit the exhibition A woven biography. The XVII century tapestries in honour of Cosimo I, created to celebrate the 5th Centenary of Cosimo's birth. The nine large tapestries in wool and silk, displayed in the magnificent Sala Bianca at the first floor of the Pitti Palace of Florence, were made between 1653 e il 1668 as a tribute of Ferdinand II de' Medici to Cosimo I, the founder of the Tuscan Granducate.
