On the occasion of the exibit “ The Great bronze sculptures of the Baptistery. Rustici and Leonardo”, just open in Florence at the National Museum of the Bargello, the magnificent “St. John the Baptist” by Leonardo da Vinci is back to Florence after 500 years. The painting, lent by the Louvre Museum in Paris, was made by Leonardo between 1507 and 1508 and since ever it is compared to the Monna Lisa because of the incredible technique of the sfumato the shade effect peculiar of Leonardo. A must.
