The first rooms  are dedicated to the artists who worked for the last Grand Duke of the Medici, Cosimo III and for his son the Grand Prince Ferdinando. Then we have the oustanding artists working for the Habsburg Lorraine who arrived in Florence in 1765. Pietro Leopoldo established the Academy of Fine Arts which became the reference point for Neoclassical canons.
