The Rape of the Sabine women, the famous group carved by Jean de Boulogne and displayed under the Loggia of the Signoria Square in Florence, might be moved into the Uffizi Gallery for preservation porpouses. The marble, as the recent restoration made a few years ago has pointed out, under the elements, is going to be damaged. Therefore they are thinking of moving it inside the nearby museum. The idea is of having a replica for the outside. The solution wil be neither unexpensive nor quick, but almost compulsory, because of the deteriorating process of the marble.
