Until 30 of November 2014 in the Baptistery of Florence three statues by Donatello are on show. They are the three prophets carved between 1415 and 1436: the Young Prophet, The bearded Prophet and the Prophet Jeremias. The statues belong to the group of sixteen statues commisiioned by the Opera del Duomo to several artists in order to decorate the outside of the Bell Tower.
Because of the important works in progress of expanding and updating, the Museum of the Opera del Duomo will remain closed for long, since next May 19th 2014; therefore this is a great opportunity of seeing these important statues by the great Donatello.
The Baptistery is open every day from 11:15AM until 6:30 PM, on Sundays from 8:30 Am to 1:30 PM.
