The Unesco Comittee of evaluation, meeting in these days in Cambogia, has decided to include in the list of the Unesco World Heritage two Renaissance gardens and twelve villas in Tuscany.
The gradens are: the Boboli garden and the Pratolino garden. Among the villas, very many were Medici residences: Villa di Cafaggiolo, Villa il Trebbio, Villa di Careggi, Villa Medici at Fiesole, Villa di Poggio a Caiano, Villa la Petraia, Villa di Castello; Villa di Artimino, Villa di Cerreto Guidi e Villa del Poggio Imperiale. Some of these villas are just outside the city centre of Florence and many of them have beautiful renaissance gardens, with collection of lemon trees and ancient jasmine plants.
