Do not miss the exhibition Luca Giordano. Maestro barocco a Firenze which until September 5th will be host at the Medici Riccardi Palace of Florence. The painter, born in Naples in 1634 is one of the best and most profilic artist of the Italian Baroc and worked in Florence for the Riccardi. The splendid vault of the Galleria degli Specchi and that one of the Riccardiana Library are some of the best examples of his art.
The exhibition shows a selection of 50 works, among them ten preparatory paintings for the frescoes of the Galleria degli Specchi (Mirrors Gallery), belonging to the Nationale Gallery of London and the Virtues, belonging to some of the most important Italian museums, such as Uffizi Gallery, Opera del Duomo di Siena and many more. Plus we have an interesting group of documents refering to the Riccardi commission.
