From September 27 2024 until January 26 2025 The Strozzi Palace of Florence presents the exhibition Helen Frankenthaler: painting without rules, dedicated to one of the most important American artist of the XX century. Helen Frankenthaler (1928-2011)had an important role in the passage from abstract Espressionism to the so called Color Field Painting.
A great selection of her works from the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation, from other museums and private collections play with works of some of her Contemporary artists such as Anthony Caro, Morris Louis, Robert Motherwell, Kenneth Noland, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, David Smith, Anne Truitt.
