From Novembre 21st 2010 to May 1st 2011 the exhibition “Ghirlandaio. A family of Renaissance painters between Florence and Scandicci “ shows a selection of some of the most important works of Ghirlandaio’s group. Domenico Bigordi called Ghirlandaio, his brothers David and Benedetto, his son Ridolfo and his pupils (such as Lorenzo di Credi and Francesco Granacci). The main exhibit is at the Castello dell’Acciaiolo in Scandicci (near Florence), but several other places (churches and little museums) preserve important works such as the Badia di S. Salvatore e S. Lorenzo a Settimo with frescos and a famous Adoration of the Magi or the Museum of San Martino a Gangalandi with a painting by Jacopo del Sellaio, Ghirlandaio’s follower. It is a great opportunity of visiting the north west countryside of Florence. The exhibit has a little section in Florence at the Medici Riccardi Palace. Reserve a private guided tour with an official local guide and enjoy the visit!
