Since February 10th 2015 at the Uffizi Gallery of Florence an exhibition dedicated to the flemish painter Gerrit Von Honthorst. Born in Utrecht, he was in Italy for ten years, from 1610 until 1620. He was very much influenced by Caravaggio's realism and use of light, in fact he became famous fot his night light scenes which gave him the italian nickname Gherardo delle Notti. His italian production, mainly due to important committens, such as, Piero Guicciardini and Cosimo II of the Medici, consists of about 40 canvas, most of which are displayed at the exhibition.Until May 24th 2015.
