From September 24th 2010 until January 23rd 2011 at the Strozzi Palace in Florence is opening the exibition “Bronzino. Painter and poet at the Medici’s court”.
It is the first exibit totally dedicated to Agnolo di Cosimo, called Bronzino (1503-1572). Surely one of the most important painters of his time, he started being very famous during the government of Cosimo I of the Medici family. Florence is the best place for celebrating this great painter, because the city of the Medici preserves the majority of his works, not only at the Uffizi Gallery, but even in other museums and churches. Besides the “Florentine works” the exibit will show other masterpieces lend by important museums such as Venus allegory from the Szépművészeti Múzeum of Budapest, The portrait of the young man with a book, from the Metropolitan Museum of New York and the two Holy family with the little S.John the Baptist, one from the Louvre Museum in Paris and the other from the Kunsthistorisches Museum of Wien.
