At the National Museum of Bargello in Florence (from April 9 2014 until July 13 2014) a great exhibition celebrates the sculptor and master Baccio Bandinelli (1493-1560). Vasari defines him “artist of eternal fame” and his biography in Vasari’s Vite is one of the longest, after Michelangelo’s and Raphael’s.
The exhibit shows all the works of the artist which can be moved, drawings, bronzes, medals, wax models, statues and paintings. Masterpieces as the Bacco of the Pitti Palace, the statues at the Bargello, the marble relieves from the Opera del Duomo and two paintings: Leda and the swan from Paris and the Baccio Bandinelli’s portrait from Boston.
