From March 3 2012 until July 15 2012 the Strozzi Palace in Florence will host the exhibition Americans in Florence. Sargent and the American Impressionists.
Being 2012 the fith centenary of Amerigo Vespucci’s death, Florence wants to celebrate the strong relationship between the old and the new Continent. This exhibition wants to relate the American Impressionist with Italy and in particular with Florence, since the last dacades of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX century.
The most important nucleous of paintings consist of works by painters belonging to the group called the Ten American Painters, among them William Merrit Chase, John Henry Twachman, Frederick Childe Hassam.
