A very new and original idea for an unusual Nativity in the Cathedral of Florence. After 13 years the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore decides to renovate the Nativity and at the same time to celebrate the architect Arnolfo di Cambio who built the Cathedral of Florence in XIV century. Therefore the set up shows beams and “bridges” and marble slabs reminding the exterior decoration of the church. The Baby Jesus will be put in the middle of the scene, on a block of “pietra forte” the local limestone.
